About

As an avid reader, I’ve always been captivated by the written word. I discovered my love for editing when filing stories as a news reporter. I loved poring over the AP Stylebook and watching my editors chop up my copy to draw out the most engaging lede.

I began my professional development with a copy editing certification from UC San Diego Extension and a fiction manuscript editing class from the Author-Editor Clinic.

Since then I have edited nonfiction and fiction manuscripts, websites, news articles, white papers, pitch decks, medical textbooks, essays, and technical manuals, ensuring both impeccable grammar and happy clients.

As an editor, I am committed to your words. I value meaningful communication with the writers I work with. My edits are intended to clarify your meaning, not impose my own. I can make your words clear, consistent, and correct while retaining your voice and encouraging your creative process.

Before becoming an editor, I worked as a marketing professional, copywriter, ghostwriter, and local news reporter. I previously ran an online news website, and I have written nonfiction manuscripts, press releases, award-winning news articles, and content marketing materials.

The English language is fluid, evolving to meet our ever-changing communication demands. Thus, my education as an editor is never over. I am always engaging with language by studying texts by linguists and grammarians, attending courses, keeping up with my colleagues on message boards, and, of course, reading.

When not working, I’m usually out on my bike riding through the woods or rafting down a river in the Pacific Northwest, where I’m lucky to call home.
